You Prepare a Table Before Me

Updated: Feb 22, 2019

I pray this is the first of many posts where I share what God has been saying to me in my "table for two" moments with HIM where i draw close to Him and listen to the whispers of His heart.

Psalm 23:5 "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows"

The enemy of our souls does not want us to spend quality time with our Living God and he will do anything he can to distract or dismay us.

I have re-posted my cover picture for this page below so that you can see some extra detail.

In it we see Satan (the snake) totally defeated at the foot of the cross. When the nails penetrated Christs’ flesh they also pierced and fatally wounded Satan. He will never reclaim the power or the future he thought he had before this redemptive moment in history. Notice the willingly shed blood of Jesus Christ dripping onto the nails that prop up the cross (which is also the table at which we meet HIM daily). His death is the only basis on which we can be forgiven and build a relationship with Holy God.

Nothing else!

It is our decision to sin that pulls us away from Him yet He never moves even an inch away from us. It is the separation that we choose that inevitably causes us great pain and ultimately leaves us weak, empty and disabled.

Satan’s intention is to “rob us blind” and leave us for dead! Gods intention is to fill us with all the fullness of Heaven!

Ephesians 2 v13 says “Although you were once distant and far away from God, now you have been brought delightfully close to Him through the sacred blood of Jesus”

The boy Jesus grew in His awareness and understanding of the FULLNESS He carried because of the intimate relationship He had with His Heavenly Father, and so can we, as we meet with Him at our “Table for Two” and share precious time with our Beloved.”

As we come full of desire and hunger to the “Love Feast” He has prepared for us, we will be fed by His Word and filled with His Goodness.

Let us spend the rest of our lives exploring the “delightfully close” relationship that was made available by His death and resurrection.

Communion with HIM is our very life.
