One day when I was praying God showed me a picture of an old-fashioned sweet-shop. He showed me that all the blessings that grew from my relationship with HIM (e.g. knowledge, wisdom, discernment and spiritual maturity) is like a sweet-shop of “goodies” to give away to all those He brings into my “shop" i.e. my area of influence! It is a precious hoard of “goodies” that He has put on display in our lives……others will want to come and taste and see for themselves just how wonderful HE really is!
Many will be drawn to your shop but be on guard also, don’t allow shop-lifters to come in and rob you of the treasures HE has shared with you. The enemy is a shoplifter and He would love to rob us leaving our shelves empty so we have nothing to give away those who come to us.
In this shop everything is free; no-one has to buy, its all about relationship, giving away freely what God has given to us. As people in our lives come and receive from our sweet-shop, Jesus Himself by the power of the Holy Spirit will replenish our “shelves.” He will keep our shelves and counters full and ‘’bursting at the seams’’ as we depend totally on Him.
Our part is just to welcome people in and give away what HE has freely given us. He will send particular people to our “sweet-shop” on a regular basis and they will leave blessed beyond words.
I felt like I heard HIM say to me:
“You are the shop-keeper and
I AM your Provider,
I AM your Supplier and
I AM your Deliverer!!!!”
How wonderful is that?!
All I have to do is keep the sweet-shop open and welcome those in that He sends to me. It is not my responsibility to re-stock the shelves with my own effort and strength but totally rely on Him for His supply. The more we give away the more He will replenish. That is our ministry and what a beautiful one it is. Just to welcome people in with open arms and an open heart!
