Sometimes God asks us to make really difficult decisions that are very costly. The Christian life isn’t all happy songs and goose-bump experiences! The reality of our choice to put Him first and do His will, often costs us dearly. But when we think of the price He paid to draw us close to Him, we know He is worthy of it all. Sometimes there is pain in the offering but our hearts will still choose to say YES! because He never promised us it would be easy but He did promise us He would be worth it.
He IS worthy of it all!
If you are struggling with some difficult decision today remember that Jesus also struggled in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Forgive us Lord for our feeble, faltering hearts that struggle with small sacrifices compared to the one you made for us.
Let us decide this day that if He should ask us, we will be willing to take up the cup of suffering and drink from it. Let us make it a small token of our love and allegiance to Him our King.
This is no wimpy gospel
it cost Jesus everything.
In John 13:16 He declares
“no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him”
We should NOT expect all our lives to be rosy and untouched by hardship but what we CAN truly expect is His sure and steady Presence and Comfort, to quite literally carry us through every situation. Never once does He leave us on our own. He is so faithful! We are carried by His constant grace and peace as is expressed in these beautiful songs
He never lets go of us as we pass through the calm and the storm, there will be an end to this trouble but until that day comes.......
Didn’t Jesus also say
“If any of you wants to be my disciple, you must deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me” (Matthew 16:24)
He was willing to do it – are we?
Here are a few worship songs to listen to and appreciate what He did for us on Calvary and what He continues to do for us everyday!
He has seen your tears. He has heard your anguished cries; but He has also promised you that...
“Weeping may endure for the night but joy comes in the morning” Psalm 30:5.
