Just be Held

Sometimes we are too tired from struggling to pray “well-put-together” prayers.

Sometimes life seems tough and you have lots of questions you don’t have answers for.

And sometimes you are just too sick or weary in your mind to think straight……….

On those days…….. (and even when you are healthy, happy and strong)

You just need to be held!

I don’t know about you but I’m the “busy-little-bee” type of person; I love to rush around getting lots of stuff done. I’m always watching the clock, planning my day and working at maximum efficiency!!!

Often I have approached my “quiet time” with the Lord in the same kind of efficient attitude. But it should not be so.

I love reading the Bible, reading great Christian books, listening to sermons and worship songs online, praying for the needs of my family and friends and neighbourhood, even at times doing spiritual warfare.........and its all good

BUT sometimes we just need to BE HELD by our wonderful, loving Heavenly Father.

Why would I want to rush that...................being held by the God of all Ages?

Why would I pull away and rush into my day when this is the most beautiful, treasured and life-imparting part of it?

God wants to extend to us a lifelong embrace with HIM. It started with the embrace of a Father on the day of our Salvation when we confessed our sin and our total utter dependence on Him ..(See The Prodigal Son story in Luke 15:11-32) ........and that embrace is never withdrawn.

His Arms are always open, waiting to embrace us, to wrap His loving, eternal, incredibly powerful but gentle Arms around us and keep us close – forever in His embrace.

Live from the place of that warmth, comfort and tenderness your whole life and never ever pull away

Enjoy this beautiful song by Casting Crowns: Just be Held
